The General Association of Engineers in Romania (AGIR) has granted the prestigious “Elisa Leonida Zamfirescu” Prize, an award dedicated to women engineers distinguished by professional excellence, to Dr. Eng. Roxana Rădvan, Director of the National Institute for Research and Development in Optoelectronics – INOE 2000.
This recognition honors the outstanding contributions of Dr. Eng. Roxana Rădvan in applied scientific research, technological innovation, and institutional leadership, highlighting the essential role of women engineers in the advancement of science and technology in Romania.
The prize bears the name of Elisa Leonida Zamfirescu, one of the first women engineers in the world and a remarkable figure of Romanian engineering, becoming a symbol of excellence, determination, and women’s contribution to the technical field.
Through this achievement, Dr. Eng. Roxana Rădvan reaffirms her status as a leader in Romanian research and brings increased international visibility to the country’s scientific community.
